Current Best Video app to use with FGU
I had been using a lesser known app called Around, which was great because the video windows were round, scaleable, and were pinned to foreground, so they could be seen even with FGU open at full screen size. It was free, with no time limit. But sadly the project failed and they discontinued it.
So, is there currently a preferred video app that has some of the aforementioned features? At a minimum, I am hoping for the "foreground" feature so that players don't have to toggle between the FGU interface and a video window.

You can use the app "Turbotop" to put whatever you want on top of your fullscreen FGU.

Actually, I discovered Zoom sort of does want I am asking for. If you use "gallery view" and minimize the window, it becomes a floating strip of video feeds. It uses a lot more real estate than Around, because it doesn't have the AI "trim to face size" feature, and the windows aren't little circles. But it does float on top and can be moved around. I figure a lot a people must use this since Zoom is so popular.
EDIT: Well, looks like Skype is being discontinued, too. Even though it wasn't my first choice app, I thought I'd just pin this here.Last edited by DeDiceManCometh; March 2nd, 2025 at 01:21.
