    Unlinked Tokens, movement and vision

    Hiya,

Since the v4.6 update, tokens placed on the map, but NOT on the combat tracker are movable by players.
Also when a player clicks on the token it now grants vision to the player.

I found the thread where this was originally discussed if it helps:

    Cheers

This has always been the case. Tokens dragged directly from assets onto the map are just tokens which can be interacted with by anyone, even if you have party vision and movement set to off. If you are using lighting and the token has no light then it won't show any vision. If you give the token a light source then it will be able to see.

Placing a token onto a map where every player can move it is useful for overland movement or for hex crawls where a single token is used as the party token.

If you don't want players to interact with a token then place it as a layer using the stamp tool in the layers section of the map tools, or have it attached to an NPC on the Combat tracker and make sure you have switched off party vision and movement in options.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

if you could check the linked post, you can see changes were made to change that behavior.
being able to put tokens on the map which don't provide player vision or allow players to move them is a really useful

Right I didn’t read far enough. You mean this post rather than the first post https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...l=1#post714288

    Hi,
It's been a while and I wondered if this has been considered any further.

Will it be possible to reinstate the functionality to prevent players having vision through non combat tracker tokens (unless owned by the player or party vision set)?
