Question / Request for Forum and Client (spoiler button)

    Heya, coding-wizards of SmiteWorks.

1- Is there a spoiler button or code for obscuring text in the forum? If so how to add a spoiler code?

2- Can we also have a spoiler box function in modules, if it's doable?

I could also use it in the blog for hiding GM Comments / Spoilers of Solo Playthrough Explanations.

EDIT: Added to requests, please vote. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...oiler%20Button

I'm not aware of such a thing on the forums.

As for including such in modules that might take quite a bit of doing; but I'd add your suggestion to the feature request list. Link in my signature.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

FYI the basic operation of FGU is its all GM text except "Read Aloud" text boxes similar to old adventure modules. The spoiler box is mostly used in web pages. I think it would be an interesting idea to add it to books. Something similar that is already there is Identified and Unidentified items.

Withing FG you could simulate spoilers by just putting a link to another story which has the spoiler text.

We have discussed in the past adding similar setup like Quests with GM areas and Player areas to more records. I'll bring it up again and see where are with that discussion.

I searched it in other VTTs and couldn't find any result in their base client. Hmm, I was thinking about about both functions, spoiler + unID items and it downed on me:

Aside from the obvious for the web and making a module Solo-Friendly,

1- By Redacting a word or a line and / or obscuring a paragraph in a box,
2- It can be utilized for sharing other things with text (spells, weapons, etc) that are only be seen by IDing it first... But even after IDed, Redacted parts in it may still be obscured without GMs permissions for ineligible players In group games. These things with text can also be clues, etc.

3- In the forum, it can also be utilized for playing Forum RP if there is request / SW is down for opening a new Category.

    For ease of use,

1- By integrating it into Right Click Wheel, we can easily select & redact a word, line or paragraph.
2- But when I think about the time it would consume when making official modules, I can't produce any solutions.

EDIT: Not that it is necessary at all (I mean the spoiler part in modules).

I couldn't follow, Lord. How do you mean?
Could you explain it with exact steps?

It's just an idea and brainstorming for the client, but it would be great if we had it in the forum. Otherwise, My playthrough explanations of LordEntrails's module will give too many spoilers. Ugly & waste of character limit but I can also make some text in a box with the same color as the BG.

    SPOILERS: "This is a spoiler. This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler. This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler.This is a spoiler."

EDIT 2: Oh, couldn't it be the same to add color to text in the modules, instead of whole new code of spoiler button? Then we could just make the text same color as BG?

Yes! I found what I meant in a link within your link: https://vbmods.rocks/forum/vbulletin-5-modifications/vbulletin-5-custom-bb-codes/113-spoiler-bbcode

I assume BBCode = ("Bulletin Board Code") is only for websites and not for Unity.

Or a different angle: FGU had a bug (later fixed) when 2024 Ruleset released, and it covered the text in some weapon stats or something with dark colors. It can actually be "it's not a bug, it's a feature," for real. Maybe by adding something like Speech Bubble to right click wheel, but with a darkened text-box? I have no idea if it's even remotely possible, just brainstorming.

My original concern was for my playthrough of LordEntrail's Module and spilling all the spoilers in the blog. But I kinda invented a makeshift spoiler button in my previous post, so no rush.

EDIT: Damn my communications skills :/ Sorry. I remembered the bug and only saw it as a creation tool for the spoiler box. Didn't mean harm.
