Where can VTT Assets live?
Very bsic question, but it's been bothering me. I've picked up a couple of very large collections of VTT assets (icons, maps, even meeples) but I had to make room for everything else by moving them to a secondary driv, so can FG use them from that drive?
Mind you, the system in general is full of mysteries at this stage.FGU Ultimate -- All Players Welcome

The assets must be in the FG data folder to be accessible to Fantasy Grounds.
You may be able to symlink the asset collections, but that is an advanced Windows command line. Or you may be able to move FG data folder to another drive, but you would need to change FG Settings and copy everything over in Windows File Explorer before working on anything. In general, we suggest avoiding multiple drives when possible, as it usually creates extra complexity for the user.
Also, you may want to consider that adding very large asset collections all at once will slow down the asset search for every case; because of the large increase in number of files that have to be loaded and indexed. One strategy is to only pull in those assets that you are using; and when pulling in new assets from the libraries on the fly, just add to FG data folder and click Refresh on the Assets window.

I keep maps out of FG and only bring in the individual ones when I need them.
