Fantasy Grounds does not open
Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue after updating Fantasy Grounds Unity. When I try to launch the program, a pop-up window titled "Unity Player - Unity2022.3.6f1_b9e6e7e9fa2d" briefly appears with a red exclamation mark and then closes instantly. The program does not start, and I am stuck.
Here are the steps I’ve already taken to try to resolve the issue:
Complete reinstallation of Fantasy Grounds Unity, including manually deleting files from the Fantasy Grounds folder.
Updated and repaired DirectX.
Checked firewall, no issues found.
Restarted the computer many times.
Don't know what to do more.

Sounds like FGU is being blocked/quarantined by your Anti-Virus or other Security program.

The exclamation mark indicates that Unity is missing files and therefore can't run. As @Griorge says this may well be due to your AV having quarantined Fantasy Grounds. See here for how to whitelist FG. https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassia...s+Applications Make sure that you whitelist both the client.exe file and the updater.exe file.
If that isn't the issue it may be that some Microsoft files are missing or out of date. Thank you for the help but it still not work.
So far i whitelist C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\FantasyGrounds.exe
and C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe (I didn't find FGUpdaterEngine.exe but only FGUpdaterEngine.log)
I uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86) 14.4234433 et Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) 14.42.34433
I rebooted PC, i try to open it in Admin mode, i shut down firewall (i've got no AV)
Fully uninstalled FGU and manually removed residual files, including:
C:\Users\Trompillon\AppData\Roaming\Fantasy Grounds
C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks
C:\ProgramData\Unity
I found also this log, i doubt it could help but i post it :

You not finding the updater exe does lean towards your firewall quarantining it (also if you are on Windows you still have Windows Defender). Shutting down a firewall *does not* generally, change it's settings, it just freezes the current settings - that's why you would need to turn the firewall back on and update your whitelist.
If you think the installer is working then, the missing exe still points to it being removed/quarantined by a security app. Also be aware that installing with Admin can change folder virtualization (pathing) and you really shouldn't unless the installer asks for it. If you have now updated your firewall to include the updater exe then uninstalling, rebooting, re-installing might now fix it.
If you are still having problems after that, chatting in the Discord with customer service might be the best move forward since they can help you real time.

Ok my bad it works, i try to uninstall again FGU another time before chatting with customer service in discord (my english is awful) and it happens i forgot to erase manually the C/Proprams Files/SmiteWorks data, i only erased C/user/AppData/SmiteWorks, sorry for bothering you all.
Thank you for the help everyone! And i'm even on time to mastered my d&d game this Wednesday!
