The fact that we can't print a decently-formed character sheet using FGU after creating a character seems to me to be an essential feature. I don't know why it has not been included.

Make sure you vote for the "Print Character Sheet" suggestion on the Feature Request list. Fantasy Grounds - Feature Requests

Really Big E? I mean, I have only been on FG for ... dunno, 4 years? but it REALLY feels like the wish list is ... how to put this.. . where you send customers to make them feel like someone cares what they want.. is that too harsh? *LOL* Several of the things I'm interested in seeing added have been on a wish list since I started using FG, it's been years.

It really feels like Smiteworks develops what they want regardless of what's on any customer wish list.

I'll stop whining now and go back to work. Cheers!

We definitely look at the feature request list; but it's definitely only one factor in our planning process. We also have to consider market direction, business direction, development cost, development risk, features for new vs. existing customers, and so on.

    Regards,

Sure sure. Yeah, we get it. I've been in and out of sales and marketing for business a few times, OH WAIT, that's part of what I do currently, and what you just said was "sure we look at the list, but but but but that has very little to do with what we're going to work on." I'm done here, I promise. Still love you guys. Hate 3D, love FGU.

I get how it feels. I do. I would love to have more visibility into the FG roadmap as well.

But, I also help triage and prioritize user feature requests at my company. So I get how complex the issue is, and that SmiteWorks has the additional challenge of having a public userbase.

I'll join in with those users who encourage SW to be more open about their roadmap, but also understand the risks if they do and understand if they stay with their current opaque approach.

I don't know that customers need to see more of the bizz roadmap, as much I'd be sure ONE top ranked customer wish item was being worked on as often as possible, even if it meant occasionally putting it ahead of another project just to get it done, and AFTER the project was completed, posting that information on the forum, in a newsletter and a community stream.

The end of that is all PR work. Why not a new Forum section, possibly under "General" Moderator locked, so no clutter of comments and no clutter of new wishes. With a list of completed wish list items with something like a quick blurb about the item, when it was finished, and what the vote count was, add a few comments when possible about why it was chosen.

Does Smiteworks keep records of what items were added from or because of being on the wish list?

Heck, ask yourselves have any items ever been added primarily because the customers wanted it? Not something you wanted to do anyway, I'd say lighting is an example of something you didn't need customers asking for, you would have completed regardless due to other platforms having it.

Yep, change the list to Completed and you will see some. Some of the ones I voted for or I think were primarily user driven include:
    - ability to add text to maps
    - export images created in FGU
    - target distance for elevated creatures
    - manual dice rolls

And I know there were a couple on the old list that I had suggested or voted on that got incorporated. Not as long as a list as I would dream of, but the request list is not updated too often and they do draw from other sources including Discord.

Some of these feature request items are my requests as well. Printing character sheets is one I’ve wanted for a very long time. Voting on them helps show that customers want them also and it helps when we go to prioritize them. It always comes down to who on the team can do them and what would they not be able to do if they did this instead.
