All extensions other than PF2CreatureParser V1.4 have been disabled.

I created a new campaign (not a legacy campaign) and retried multiple stat blocks.
I manually typed in a stat block.
I copied a stat block direct from a PDF, modified only to satisfy line formatting required for the module.
All the above fail with the same original error on both my MacBook and Windows 10 systems.

I tried to create a stat block using the PF2E Monster Tool website, export the JSON, and import it. That operation fails with the following error.
[10/21/2024 6:33:30 AM] [ERROR] Script execution error: [string "PF2CreatureParser:..s/pf2creatureparser.lua"]:922: decodeJSON: Invalid argument
Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated.

@Draggin64 - I can't reproduce your issue. Can you try with the Giant Skunk text from post 191? (Included below).

    Code:
    Giant Skunk
    Creature 1
    N Large Animal
    Source Bestiary 3 pg. 246
Perception +6; low-light vision, scent (imprecise) 40 feet
    Skills Acrobatics +7, Athletics +6, Stealth +7
    Str +3, Dex +4, Con +3, Int -4, Wis +1, Cha +0
    AC 16; Fort +8, Ref +9, Will +4
    HP 21
    Speed 25 feet
    Melee [one-action] jaws +8 [+3/-2], Damage 1d6+3 piercing
    Melee [one-action] claw +8 [+4/+0] (agile), Damage 1d4+3 slashing

    Spray Blinding Musk [two-actions] (poison)
The giant skunk propels potent, acrid musk in a 15-foot cone.
Each creature in the line must attempt a DC 17 Fortitude save.
Critical Success The target is unaffected.
Success The target is sickened 1. Failure The target is sickened 3.
Critical Failure The target is blinded for 1 round, becomes sickened 3, and takes a –2 penalty to Stealth checks from the horrific odor for 24 hours or until the musk is removed or neutralized, requiring 10 minutes of thorough scrubbing with soap.
This is a video showing how this works fine for me: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/v4qzn...qomalv89l&dl=0

If you still have issues using this text and following the steps in the video, then please provide a video or screenshots showing the steps carried out to recreate the issue.

Thank you again for your prompt reply. As soon as I looked at the video, I saw my error.
I was copying into (trying both) the fields above the buttons.
As soon as I copied the stat block into the correct (and specified in the window) field, the parser is working PERFECTLY.
Thank you for your patience, assistance, and for what is a great mod/tool to have.

Glad you got it figured out. I'll see if there's a way to make the UI clearer.

Oh, so you were pasting into the unid'd description box it looks like. Would the UI be clearer if the box to paste in was directly below the instruction text, with the buttons then below that? Or maybe just change the instruction text to something like:

"Paste stat block into the text box BELOW. Stat block can be either Paizo text format or monster.pf2.tools JSON format. Then click the button associated with the stat block format."

I've also thought about just having one button, and always trying a JSON parse first and then falling back to Paizo format if the text doesn't parse as valid JSON.

    Thoughts?

    Yes to both of these.

I agree, yes to both... probably.

If pasting the text in causes the button to scroll off screen and you have to manually scroll down to it, then please no to that. XD

But if that doesn't happen, then yes to both.

I remember why I had the two buttons. There isn't a way to handle the error when the text doesn't parse as valid JSON. Waiting on MW for a reply and possible fix. The rest of the changes were pretty trivial. I also added a "Paste Stat Block Here" empty-text to the string control to make it even more clear where to paste.

I probably won't have time to look at this until after the New Year.
