"Raise Hand" Function or similar

I am about to start a campaign with 8 players. In my own experience as a player, there is nothing more frustrating than having a possibly illuminating question or comment and being unable to get the GM's attention without trying to talk over them or everyone else at the table. Most players are very polite and reserved, and so when they wait for a gap in the dialogue (or GM narrative) to ask their question, they find the opportunity never arises before the game (and the group) have moved on, making the question/comment irrelevant. This problem is magnified by a larger group of players.

Does anyone know of a way to implement a "Raise Hand" type function, that would bring someone's desire to speak to the GM's attention? Is it possible to tie a sound to Pings? I suppose I could create a hotbar button that is linked to a sound in Syrinscape, but wanted to see what others were using.

What about in Discord? Is there such a function or audible a member could use in verbal chat?

I think their are two "safety" extensions that might, maybe, give you a similar functionality. If I remember they are called Halt, and Safety Tools. If you are using Discord, there might be a bot there that does what you are hoping for, though it would be a different window

Never thought about using them that way. I have always had a problem when having to wait to make a comment or ask a question, as by the time there is an opening, I have forgotten what I was going to say, lol.

Player Notes, type it out then delete once you've asked.

Is that an extension or are you talking about the Player Notes tab under Players? If so, how does that send a note/signal to the GM?

I was able to modify damned's Halt! extension to get the affect I was looking for. Thanks!

I believe if your click and Share it, it will pop up for everyone.

I did write an extension once that put a hand icon on your portrait but it no longer works

For what is worth, my players simply type "I have a question about this when you can respond" in the chatbox. And that way I know to prompt them about their question.
