Players Adjusting wounds in the combat tracker?
Dear Wise Ones,
The following question is definitely going to make me sound like a control freak, but it winds me up when my players adjust their own wounds in the combat tracker.
Several times a session someone will get attacked and I'll roll damage (admittedly pretty smartish) and then they'll say "oh, I can use X ability to avoid it" and I say fine, because I'm not an arse, and the alternative is pausing to wait for thirty seconds every time I roll to hit to see if they have any abilities - I'm fine with 95% of the time getting through combat quickly and allowing occasional takebacks.
But then they adjust their wounds directly in the CT, and they mix it up and then I adjust their wounds and we forget how many wounds there were.
This is NOT a big deal, we're a relaxed bunch - but just being able to disable the ability to easily rewrite the wound number would fix it.
Is there a setting I am missing?
Thanks, as always!
PS I know they could still do it in their character sheet
PPS i know I can hide their HP in the CT.
PPPS I know there are various "Trust" things on the Foundry, but they often look like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

As far as I'm aware in all the rulesets I work on; players can only adjust their wounds on their character sheet, not on the combat tracker. Not sure which game system you are using; but that's pretty universal, since the combat tracker database is not owned by players to allow them to edit.
So, it sounds like the players are probably editing their HP/Wounds on the character sheet. I'm not sure what you are asking exactly, because it sounds like you want them to be able to edit to move the game along, but also don't because they make mistakes.

When issues like this come up, I aways ask, what would you do at the table? Since at the table I track PC HP's, I don't worry about what it is on the VTT.
But, there is an extension you might like. It might lock out the wounds field from players being able to modify them. Take a look; Fantasy Grounds Forge

Thanks both!
Absolutely possible it is happening from the character sheets, I genuinely suspect confusion rather than deliberate change.
I will check that extension!
