Traveller background
Is there not a way to change the background in the MP2e ruleset? Its seems hard coded as i tried to use my own background and it still defaulted to the one that came with it.

The decal in the center of the screen can be customized using the Tool->Options->Background Decal dialog.
If you're talking about the additional graphics in the corners of the desktop, these were hard-coded by the original developer.

MadBeardMan has said he is creating a new theme for Traveller, with different graphics.
I had asked to keep the current version as "classic" or something similar so we would increase the number of Themes available. {plus my Traveller game site is themed for this current style, just being greedy }We do not stop playing because we grow old.

I actually remove decals as they just take up screen space. I am reffering to the actual background/table top. I also noticed you cant add other dice to the table top. Im guessing though i can still have a d100 table set up and it will roll it just not show the % dice.

Yes the blue hex background is the default Theme for Traveller.
None of the Themes allow changing that background, the only way to do that is to edit the coding directly to create a slightly different Theme.
I use the blue hex background default Theme for my game (it also matches our website theme) and then put different decals in for different events happening, systems visited, an animated one to indicate jump space, etc.
For the Table rolling d100 I would imagine yes that would work. You control the output of the table for the most part so I would think there is a way to display the actual result rolled as a bit of text but no dice images. We do not stop playing because we grow old.

You can use a different theme with a less bright background (such as Core - Dark), since each have their own desktop frame graphic. The middle Background Decal can be removed or changed, as @anstett noted.

If you load up a different theme; it will change the background. Try loading "Theme: Core" or "Theme: Core - Dark" or one of the Legacy themes. Then, the only thing remaining would be the decal, which you can change to any image.
