DICE PACKS BUNDLE

Did they do an update just to change the name of the Player's Handbook?

Yesterday, in getting ready for a session I had pulled up the new Players Handbook and I wanted to share it with my players. After briefly shutting down FGU I came back, started it back up and there was and update ready. Did the update and now the name for the Players Handbook had changed.

Pre update, the new PHB said "Dungeons and Dragons" and the old one said "DnD". Very easy to tell apart, very easy to find. Now they BOTH say "DND" which means the new one is now completely indiscernible from the old one. Whereas you used to be able to tell the difference between the two.

I realize this is a tiny frustration but I don't understand the reasoning? You had a system that worked, then you intentionally broke it. I mean was there a huge demand for letter economy from the players?

And any thoughts on changing it back or adding "(2024)" to the description? Or some other way to discern it from the original? And please follow whatever format you land on with the other new books.

    Thanks for reading.✌

I'll be renaming the old one to append (legacy) after it. I just haven't got around to it.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

I watched YOUR video on the New PHB where you specifically pointed how to tell the difference between the two. Why the change? (I don't want to presume too much and I really know nothing about how the sausage is made, but it just seem like a weird thing to expend resources and push an update on.) I don't know... from my uninformed, ignorant point of view, it seems like you guys spend a lot of time fixing things that aren't broken. /ducks behind furniture

Anyway, thanks for replying. I really do appreciate everything you guys do.✌

It's just that the updates didn't get synchronized. The book names were changed to make sure that the books all showed up in the same alphabetical grouping in the UI; and it was supposed to be paired so that the addition of the "(Legacy)" suffix to the older books was pushed at the same time (to mirror how the publisher is differentiating).

These have now all been pushed.

Originally named Dungeons & Dragons to distinguish it from the original but the name and the forthcoming DMG names got too long. So Changed back to D&D but adding (legacy) to the 2014 version solves the issue.

Again, I know this seems trivial, but I do appreciate the replies and the work in general you guys do. FGU is a fantastic product.
