    Accidentally Deleated Character

I'm running a 5e D&D game on cloud server. I thought I was in the party sheet and deleted a character because I was wanting to check encounter difficulty with one less character. I was actually in the character selection screen....and the character is now gone. I hit Control Z, Control Z...... but it seems this did not undo my mistake. Anyone know how I can get this character back or if its possible?

    Thank you,
    Miloh

Ctrl-Z does nothing. You can probably import the character (look at the buttons along the bottom of the Character window) - and if the player already used it, then the PC is also saved on the players PC.

    You are the DM?
    Before the player joins your campaign, have them do this;
Create a new 5E campaign, call it something like "5E Character Management"
In that campaign have the player go into the character selection window and import a character,
Have them select the character from your campaign (without joining your campaign!) and import it into their campaign
Now when they join your campaign, they can re-import their character to your campaign.

There is always this option too:

You will need to do some juggling.
Probably what I would do is start a New 5E Campaign. Exit FG. use process in link to get your most recent backup file pre-deletion - copy it to new campaign folder. Rename db.xml in that new campaign and rename your copied backup to db.xml.
Load that game up and export the character to XML and then when back in main campaign import the XML again.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful suggestions. I am the DM. Just to be clear on the below before we try it. Do I ask the player to make this new campaign and import the character? Its not something I do correct?

Correct. Assuming the player had the character in their control when they left your campaign and before the character was deleted, they will have a copy of that character in their player cache. The cache will not be updated until the player connects to your campaign again (at which time the character will be deleted from their cache.

So, The player can then create a new campaign, import the character from the cache and then have a safe copy of the character to bring back into your campaign.

    Two different sets of suggestions.

If the player was NOT connected when you delete their character you can try Lord Entrails suggestion.
    Otherwise try mine.

Ok, thanks. Thats what I thought. I was the only one in at the time and he has not joined the game yet. He is going to try it and I'll let you know how it goes.
