Old vs new
I have a friend ... who loves traveler ... Classic Traveller. He is against playing travelleer. I have watched some videos about this game and other than the obvious (Mongoose is suported ... Classic is not.) I have not even rolled up a character and watched it die, even before playing.
So ... enlighten me .... Please ... what are the differences between the two edditions.
Thank YTou!

Classic is not supported in FG.
Traveller is an excellent rule set for a Sci Fi setting. You can use the existing universe (Charted Space) or create your own from scratch as you want. There are as many different type of games to play as there are tables to play them at.
There is the Cepheus Engine that is on the Forge for a more generic 2d6 gaming experience that could simulate Classic Traveller if you wanted to.
Mongoose 2E is fully supported, new material is in the pipeline and there is a very supportive community. Some of those same people have worked on the Cepheus ruleset so you could explore that too.
I run a play by post Traveller game, reach out if you would like to join.We do not stop playing because we grow old.
We grow old because we stop playing.
