Questions About Using FGU GIJOE Ruleset

1 - Adding a picture to a (drone) pet isn't working for me (as GM). I open the drone sheet, click on the circle to the right of the name, and the "Picture and Tokens" window opens, but nothing I drag and drop there sticks. Not images, portraits, or tokens. Not jpg, gif or webp. Nor can I find a way to upload art directly to the drone sheet. Am I doing something wrong?

2 - Since the Gear from the book is 'Read Only', is there a way to make an (unlocked) copy of it I can modify to create custom gear for my players, or do I have to create Bob's Artillery Lobber from scratch?

Thanks damned. That worked for gear (problem 2), but I still can't get the drone to take artwork. A locked drone record lacks the button to set artwork, and an unlocked drone record won't take any.

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, but testing it on my end is working. So I'm not sure.
Any locked record won't allow an image to be placed at all. So you'll have to make a copy like damned suggested.
I would double check that the "Picture and Tokens" window that opens up isn't locked itself. If that still isn't working, does this happen after creating a brand new pet/vehicle/threat?

Oddly, this led me to the solution.

The "Picture and Tokens" window was not locked, however when I locked it FGU redrew the Picture, Token-Flat, and Token-Camera sub-windows. When I then unlocked it I was able to drag & drop artwork as normal. Note that previously locking and unlocking the Pet window had no effect; it was specifically the Picture and Tokens window that solved my issue.

EDIT: New pets created now behave normally.

I'm really glad you got this to work for now. But I noticed some weird locking/unlocking behavior while updating this week. I was going to have you try something but it looks like you already did.
I don't know 100% what the problem is right now, but this narrows it down for me quite a bit and I'll try to find it quickly. Definitely a weird one.

In case it matters, we did try all the various FG themes to find the one that worked best for all the players, so it's entirely likely that at some point we had two themes activated together, such as Theme: Legacy - Leather and Theme: Legacy - Light. I see in the House of Healing thread intro that using multiple themes together can cause problems.

That could definitely be something. Multiple themes will almost always throw issues.
You may want to check out the default theme again. I know it was a bright white theme before, but it was recently reworked by Adam, our new CDO.
    It looks goooooooooood.

Q3 - Now that we've switched to the Default (GIJOE) theme, the Quickmap window background is tiled (filled?) with a mostly dark blue image as an underlayer. In other themes this is white or light gray. Is there any way to change this to mono-colour gray?

(In this screenshot, I added a parchment effect to the actual map and zoomed out to illustrate the background image. You can see the background is still visible through the actual map.)

    Screenshot (3).png

EDIT: As a workaround, I have just discovered that using the "Increase Size" button on the map window gives me the plain gray background I was after. For some reason, the JOE-themed dark background is only visible at the smallest (i.e. adjustable border) map window size.

I've opened a few images and applied FX (parchment) and played around with the sizes.
I can't seem to recreate this problem on my end.
    Is anyone else experiencing this?

I would double check and make sure you don't have any theme extensions running. They could be overwriting the default theme.
