DM guide tables only allowing output to Chat... ?
Hi, for some reason out of no where my DM guide tables don't work right. They only allow output to "Chat" which is useless almost. I have tried unloading then reloading the module for DM guide etc, but nothing seems to work. All other modules seem to work ok and allow me to switch the options around, only the DM's guide doesn't allow changing of the fields. Any ideas?

It's not a bug. All records from the DMG are set to read only, and therefore are locked. To be able to edit them, simply make a copy of that record (drag and drop it from and back to its record list window). You will then be able to edit the copy. That didn't used to be the case, because when the DMG was first compiled as a module for FG, it was done using par5e. However, it was remade as campaign-to-module export (or so that's my understanding of the situation). It is particularly egregious when it comes to treasure parcel generation.
Exactly a month ago I had a conversation regarding this issue with Zacchaeus, and I had predicted that less experienced users would encounter this problem. I think it may be time to re-examine the decision to have the DMG be read-only.

Vass' summary is correct.
The way to use the tables in the DMG is either, as he suggests, make a copy and edit that or better yet create your own table to call the DMG table which gives you more flexibility. If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

But, is there a super duper important reason to keep the module read-only? Why don’t we have it opened up and not have to do busybody stuff like copying tables or creating new ones?

We recently revisited the decision to make modules read-only and we have decided to reverse this direction. There are mostly just some technical issues to work through in order to make them unlockable and editable now that they are already out in the wild. We also want to make sure we pair that change with other updates that make it easier to revert changes you may have made to individual records and possibly even to un-delete items.
