    If the router you had with you was wired you could have used Wireless for the hotspot for the license check and then connect to the GM over the 192.168.xx.yy wired network.

    GenCon attendance is about 70k right? Probably half of them tried connecting their phones, and another large number their laptops. It was doomed to be horrendous

    Well I had no problems using the wifi on my phone. I was actually at the JW Marriott across the street, and they have multiple wifi accounts. Not sure exactly how FGU works, is it stateless or stateful? Is it constantly pinging or what? In any case, it crapped out a few times then wouldn't connect at all.
