Moveable Grid Layer Request
Hey all.
I was sure this was already requested at some point but I couldn't find it so I submitted a request to have the grid be adjustable so it can placed beneath walls, decorations, etc.
The name of the request is: Have Grid be Moveable Between Other Layers
Please vote! For the sake of map aesthetics!--

In the meantime, you could always make your own grid image and place it on a layer that you control.

I have done that and it's not too bad for squares*, but it's been a PITA for hexes. Although, I will admit it's been a while since I tried hexes. I may have better luck with it these days since my GIMP-fu is more advanced.
*I just make a transparent square the size matching the DPI of my map, e.g., 150 x 150 pixels. Then make a single-pixel line along 2 adjacent sides. Save it out and use it as a floor texture on a separate paint layer. Boom.--

The grid is independent of the layers in FG. It’s drawn on top of the layers.
Are you asking for grid to be drawn in between layers?

Correct. That way I could put it right on the floor with the walls on top of it. Or, for regional maps, I can have underneath any map decorations such as labels, compass rose, border, etc.
