Currently, the best practice is by duplicating layers. Multiple layers can be placed in a folder to "act" as a single layer.

thank you, I understand and use the duplicate layer feature, but it would be much more manageable if we can copy and paste jsut what we need.
Anyway, I was just wondering if it was still under development or not. I can wait , no rush my side.

Not being able to select individual stamps (or even adjust shading and other things) on paintings is the reason I use the stamp tool under the Layers menu. It gives you way more control of individual stamps. But, it does seem to be more of a resource hog when done that way.
