Battletech tabletop
Do you think Smiteworks will ever get the rights to have the Battletech tabletop ruleset in FG?

Creation of rulesets does not require licensing or IP rights. A fairly legal universal understanding is that game mechanics can not be protected by IP law, and therefore rulesets can be created for any game system. But, the names, phrases, images and other text are protected IP. Hence why FG has so many rulesets available (official and community) but so few game system books. (Few in the scheme of the hundreds of game systems.)
BT ruleset would have to use a neutral reference (3rd player), or the base architecture would require major changes.
But, Mechwarrior RPG, now that could be done in FG.

There's the Time of War ruleset, which as I remember has the Alpha Strike rules more or less baked into it. I'm positive it'd be possible to code the BG TT into FGU - but Megamek is already so far along it'd be a real task to get it into a more done state.
