NEW Trouble with walls / doors occluder points. v4.6.0
*CORRECTION RUNNING v4.6.2*
Is Anyone else having brand new issues mapping out walls and doors in FGU?
All mods off. Normal map the size of which I've worked with dozens of times before.
Points appear where I didn't put any. (by the dozens)
Making doors, door squares fail to remove the walls, walls open in the wrong place near doors.
This is the first map I've edited since newest version drop in (v4.6.0 Nov-2024 for future viewers)
Overall mapping seems very sluggish, and I'm using a machine that runs all the newest games on highest graphics etc. Not a hardware issue as far as I can tell.Last edited by Blackwolfe; December 19th, 2024 at 16:25.

Latest version is 4.6.1 which fixed issues like you describe that were in 4.6.0.
Update and try again. Note Moon said in some cases doors and other occluders may need to be redrawn.

Thanks E.
I apologize I miss quoted the version as I looked at the sticky in City Hall, I updated this morning. 7am PST 12/19/2024.
Running v4.6.2 *will edit op)
Also using the selection tool in walls mode sometimes grabs sections of the map I didn't select (near my selection, but not actually where)
Overall odd behaviors. I checked on a different machine, all the same dysfunctions. //shrugs.Never violate a woman, nor harm a child. Give aid to those in need when you are able. Ah, and looks like I need to update too!
I know Moon or Carl will ask for a copy of the campaign and steps to reproduce or a map to look at.

Yes, we will need more information. Basically, we need to be able to reproduce the issue locally; so specific steps that you took to see the issue are needed.
For behaviors that happen on every map, a quick video would be great. (You can use the Window Snipping Tool to make short videos.)
For behaviors that only happen on one map, specific steps as well as the campaign are needed.

Thank You. Your interest in helping is wonderful. Your quick response today greatly appreciated.
Back to the first line of My original post in this thread,
"Is Anyone else having brand new issues mapping out walls and doors in FGU?"
Seeing how the devs aren't aware of it and no one else is responding, I have no desire to waste your time looking for what might well be something on My end.
If it gets worse or I can't figure it out, or others start chiming in with similar problems, I'll revisit.
Thanks again and Cheers!

No worries. Definitely let us know if you continue to see anything; and any information on how to recreate so we can see the issue helps us to be able to see what you see and better understand how to fix.

Fantasy Grounds - v4.6.2 ULTIMATE (2024-12-17)
Dungeons and Dragons (5E) ruleset (2024-12-17) for Fantasy Grounds
Using a new campaign with no extensions loaded, except for the D&D Theme.
I was watching this thread for an example to see if it was the same minor issue that I encountered. My situation (see the linked video below) seems to be map specific. I was modifying an existing map and when adding or replacing a wall I noticed that extra occluder points were appearing on their own. These points cannot be deleted, or they can be deleted only to immediately reappear as if another 'hidden' intersection was being created.
Map: Redbrand Hideout (Player) from the Lost Mine of Phandelver - original map, with no edits made (as can be seen in the video).

That is similar, though I haven't witnessed the points being created as much as going back and seeing points that were not there a moment ago.
I can delete these extra points or use the "Simplify Selected Occluders" tool to remove them.
I haven't had a lot of time to spend on troubleshooting this as My real work is mostly troubleshooting for a paycheck, BUT I opened a brand new small map with no walls and started "walling it out" and had no issues until I reach a certain higher number of occluders when it started happening again.
It "feels like" FGU has somehow recently become more resource heavy and that is affecting the map far sooner when a high number of occluders are placed on a map.
I will continue to experiment as time allows, unless no one else chimes in or someone else figures out what the specs are on these occluder phenomena.Never violate a woman, nor harm a child. We just pushed a new update that should improve the LoS line splitting behavior. Please run a new Check for Updates, and let us know if still seeing an issue.
