When I did the most of the Deepnight books over the holidays, if I had a full day, I could actually get one done in about 12 hours. The CSC has so many more tables (oh god the tables!) and images compared to those. I do have my own CSV to Table importer, but it makes no sense to use for a few items like this book has everywhere. It worked great for the larger tables.

For the CSC 2023 Updates, I used a tool called Tabula that will extract all tables from PDF files and save it out to a CSV file but also had to figure out all the fields that various items needed to live properly in the database. I had to get all that organized into a consolidated spreadsheet of over 1000 items. I created my own FGU extension last year to import all CSV item data into FGU for my own campaign.

Doing this book was more akin to when I did Mysteries of the Ancients and Secrets of the Ancients as far as the amount of work goes.

Hope you all find it helpful. The images for all the items are so much better than the old book.

As traveller is my next campaign to run for my group after they finish Shattered star (pf1e ap) i appreciate you stepping up and doing the conversions and i am glad that the CSC was done before that campaign starts as i believe thats the most important book that got updated as my players love gear/loot. And after all that work you've done you 100% deserve a break.

Which product are you asking about?

I'm not sure about the free aspect, but we can always check into that for you. If a new version of a product releases to replace an existing product, these can sometimes be free, sometimes be discounted, and sometimes are considered a new product. It mostly depends on how similar they are and how much work it was to convert, as well as whether or not the publisher (Mongoose) approves of that.

We had some changeover from community developer to official Mongoose developer and back to community developer for Traveller products recently, so the environment is no longer the same.
