Reunited: A Song For the Season

Rate this Entry
Awhile back the party did a wintertime scouting mission to the Howling Hills, part of the realm of the Lich Queen. The party’s bard wrote a song about it.

Scouting In A Winter Wonderland
(To the tune of Walking In A Winter Wonderland)

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
An undead horse, bones a-glistening
A horrible sight, we're frightened tonight
Scouting in a winter wonderland

Through the hills we are creeping
While our foes, they are sleeping
We're sneaking around, hope we don't get found
Scouting in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can kill some goblins
With our fireballs we will cut them down
Gather up all of their swords and javelins
Then we can sell their weapons back in town

Later on, we'll conspire
As we set forts afire
We're counting our gold, with tales to be told,
Scouting in a winter wonderland

The fighter meets with a giant
Now the cleric's got a client
He's raised from the dead, with lumps on his head
Scouting in a winter wonderland

Near a bridge we find some sheets of paper
Wanted posters with all of our names
They do not approve of all our capers
But I'd guess you'd say that we've found fame

Later on, We'll conspire
To set more forts afire
We're counting our gold, with tales to be told,
Scouting in a winter wonderland

Here's the wanted poster in question.

Oh my goodness this gave me such a chuckle! The bard in my group often likes writing songs after our sessions and then singing them to us in future sessions! I'll have to show him this This was awesome!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Oddly enough the player who runs the bard isn't much of a singer, so she just pops them up as notes. Either way, it's a great addition to the fun. She recently got the Song of Freedom ability, so she had to break out the Bob Marley!

This is absolutely brilliant — clever, hilarious, and perfectly captures the chaotic charm of a D&D party on a mission! sprunki game

I'm happy you liked it! Interestingly, the bard's lead player isn't much of a singer, so she merely pops them up as notes. In any case, it really enhances the enjoyment. She had to play the Bob Marley as she recently acquired the Song of Freedom ability!

I loved how Phystus mixed bardic tropes with a tongue‑in‑cheek narrative about friends finally meeting again around the virtual tabletop. The line about “laughing across the rolling dice” captured the humor of our nightly Fantasy Grounds sessions, and the melody actually felt like a seasonal anthem you could hum while waiting for the next smiteworks encounter. It’s refreshing to see a track that both celebrates reuniting and adds a playable soundtrack for online role‑playing groups. If anyone’s looking to add a custom audio cue to their campaign, the free producer tags generator can be handy without feeling forced.
