We had a good morning on Sunday, controlled the situation nicely and held off the herd of giants and lamias in Rise of the Runelords. Pharius was rockin' again, kicking some major giant tail while keeping the biggest and baddest of them off the back of our crew. Overall we hit them like a well oiled machine. Very nice.

Peanut and I played in Rivalry's End on Monday night. There are a lot of changes coming in Season 5 of the PFS and I have to admit I'm a little frustrated with the Society in general. I've run a lot of games and we have a great crew playing here on FG, that has been fantastic. The overhead and the hoops is getting to me, rules this and that and honestly the Paizo board is terrible. Of course you have to realize that any idiot can post whatever there and does... so when you ask a question about something.. you are in no way guaranteed to get a 'real' answer. Even so, they rarely take suggestions or comments well... simple questions turn into.. well.. it's annoying... anyway.. back to the scenario.

Rivarly's End was the final wrapup scenario for the Shadow Lodge so Peanut and I brought our Shadow Lodge characters out to see what it was all about. I thought the scenario was somewhat unspectacular.

Side Note: Playing intrigue with a bunch of random PCs is always difficult, I mean really, if characters aren't built to be James Bond.. then they are going to be bored with intrigue... if they are... well it doesn't really work too well for a PFS scenario. All good since there wasn't too much intrigue here, but I kinda was hoping for some considering the Faction involved. A bad expectation on my part. I was never awesome at playing 'Top Secret' so really.. intrigue ISN'T my thing... I'm not quite sure how to get a good mix of it into a game. I'll have to think on that one.

Back to my story...
The PFS is closing out 'Faction Missions' in Season 5.... a good thing IMO since a lot of them come down to a skill check that one of the party may or may not have... One of our players failed to have an appropriate skill and thus failed to get his extra Fame in this one. Which stinks. I mean... seriously. No fun in that. He played the game and did a good job... it's really not cool to set up goals that come down to 1 skill roll. 'nuf said.
Overall the team worked well together and we had a good group of guys. I can't say that enough about these PFS games. I really am happy with the community here on FG and it's been great playing with everyone here. I can only think of a couple of rare instances where there was an issue with personalities that didn't mesh well... and those are pretty well blurred out in my memory. I'm doing a lot less PFS now simply because I've met so many good players and am now playing all these weekly games with them.
I nod to all of you guys.

Kingmaker and Bloodsworn Vale are cancelled this week so I'm on gaming hiatus... unless I can slip something in. I'm going to try and run Legacy of Fire on Thursday in the Bloodsworn Vale slot.. that should be fun. I really like running with the kids.. even though they are sometimes a bit 'distractable'.

Since the little woman was going to be out Friday Night playing Bunco with the girls, I took a last go at First Steps 2 and 3 before they are retired next Weds. the 14th. I had a good group of fellows, some of whom I've played with before and several new guys.

I've run Part 2 eight times now and Part 3 six and it amazes me how differently they play each time. (Those of you who played surely heard me comment on it as it struck me funny at the time.... sorry for being repetitive) Anyway... I'm glad to have a few new members to the crew and sorry to see these scenarios go... but honestly.. it's good to have things changing... it does tend to move the story along... new folks in the future will miss out on some of the good stuff but hopefully there will be other great stories to tell in the future.

Our Bloodsworn Vale game is cancelled tonight because Peanut is still out of town and one of the other guys is also tied up.

Tuesday night's Kingmaker game was lots of fun. We leveled up to 6th ... mostly by the firepower of our Sylph Wizard Elyse. Spriggalundricandricandri, my Gnome Nature Oracle, tried to be a bit too offensive against the undead.. picked up a negative level both for myself and my wolf Shadow. Ugh. Gotta figure out how much 2 restoration spells cost. Dangit. We picked up a good bit of loot though so hopefully it'll all be good in the end. Elyse needs to start crafting some magical gear ASAP. I hope she won't need to wait until winter.

Hrm... found the cost: 1000gp for the diamond dust component.. plus Caster level × spell level × 10 gp... Restoration is SL 4.. so an 7th level cleric is required... I could cast it myself at level 8.. I wonder if I could do it from a scroll somehow... yikes! The scrolls cost 700 each.. definitely cheaper to have someone else cast it...
10x7x4... 280? So 1280 each or 2560gp all together for both Shadow and Sprigg. That's not that bad. The trick is finding a 7th Level cleric.

I don't have any more games upcoming until Sunday morning's Rise of the Runelords game. Then Monday Night we have lachancery is running a Pathfinder Society game.. Rivalry's End... this one is the wrapup for the Shadow Lodge.. sounds like it should be pretty cool. I'm looking forward to it.

My Current Game Schedule includes:

Sunday: Rise of the Runelords (Morning), Monthly FtF PFS Scenarios (Afternoon), Reign of Winter (Evening Every Other Week), Skulls & Shackles (Evening Every Other Week - ON HOLD)

Monday: Legacy of Fire (Evening)

Tuesday: Kingmaker (Evening)

Wednesday: RMC Greyhawk (Evening - ON HOLD)

Thursday: Bloodsworn Vale (Evening)

Not sure about this Blog thing.. but I'll try it out a bit I guess.
I think I'll post a log of my weekly FG games for a while and see how that goes.

Sunday's games went well.
Pharius (the level 13 fighter/level 3 druid) did well in Rise of the Runelords yesterday morning. Having returned from the dead by way of Kroz and the power of Sarenrae... I hope Gozreh isn't too pissed. Lots of giants and lamias died...

Pharynosus (the level 4 pyromaniac fire elemental sorcerer) and the group had a rough time in the Reign of Winter last night. I did pretty well overall, but Renzin got blinded like 3 times... he now is permanently blinded (until we can get a cure blindness spell.. which is still a way off). We have cleared out the Pale Tower and are almost ready to move out.. we are licking our wounds and pretty upset that that damn witch got away. I tried really hard to blast him out of the air as he was fleeing...

Our Monday night Legacy of Fire game is cancelled because Peanut is away at camp, everyone is bumming. I'll probably spend the evening with the little woman. Looking forward to Tuesday's Kingmaker game though.
